Player of the Game - St. John's

The inside presence of D'or Fischer proved to be the difference in WVU's 64-60 win over St. John's on Saturday at the WVU Coliseum.

As is becoming the norm in Mountaineer games, Fischer scored the first basket for WVU. He was fouled and converted the free throw to give his team an early 3-0 lead. He continued that strong play throughout the game, finishing with 18 points in just 26 minutes of action.

Fischer's best play, however, didn't come while shooting the ball or blocking a shot. Instead, it was on a pass. With the Mountaineers leading by just four points with 1:53 to go, Fischer found Darris Nichols on a backdoor cut and hit him with a perfect pass for a layup that put WVU in front by six.

Fischer made all five of his shots in the first half, and finished 6-8 from the field. He also canned six of his seven free throws. Completing his line, the 6-11 senior snared four rebounds, blocked two three shots and dealt two assists. He also had no turnovers on the afternoon.
