New Receivers Coach Named

Butch Jones, most recently the offensive coordinator and running backs coach at Central Michigan, has been named the new wide receivers coach at WVU.

Jones, who spent the last seven seasons with the Chippewas, was offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. He tutored the tight ends in 1998 and receivers in 1999 before moving to the running back position.

Jones is a 1990 graduate of Ferris State University, and spent three seasons at his alma mater (two as offensive coordinator) prior to going to CMU. Jones and his wife, Barbara, have two sons, Alex (7) and Adam (3).

"We're very excited to have Butch Jones join the Mountaineer family," says Rodriguez. "He has experience as a coordinator at the I-A level working with a similar offense, and he has recruiting experience in key areas we look to focus on in the future. We look forward to his arrival later this week."

Jones coached this year with former WVU graduate assistant Tony Dews, who coached at California (Pa.) and Holy Cross before moving to CMU prior to last season.
