WVU Gets NCAA Nod

West Virginia's run through the Big East tournament paid off with a seventh seed in the NCAA basketball championships.

The Mountaineers moved up from a likely 11th seed to a number seven seed. WVU will play 10th seed Creighton Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio.

The basektball team and coaching staff, watching the brackets being announced on CBS, exploded with their name came up in the brackets. WVU's team was watching in the Coliseum Club after returning from New York City today.

The first two round games will take place at the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State University.

Creighton finished 23-10 overall, and 11-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Bluejays, who have won their last eight games, defeated Southwest Missouri State 75-57 to win the conference tournament last Monday.

The Bluejays are coached by Dana Altman, who prefiously coached at Marshall.
