Seton Hall Quick Recap

WVU put forth a valiant effort, but the shorthanded Mountaineers saw their Big East Tournament hopes all but obliterated in a 85-79 loss to Seton Hall.

WVU (8-14, 1-9), trailed by ten points in the first half, but fueled by seven staight points from Josh Yeager, rallied to within four at halftime.

The Mountaineers managed to take the lead briefly at 57-56 in the second half, but the Pirates played steadily down the stretch to deny West Virginia's upset bid.

Seton Hall (12-11, 5-6), outscored WVU 12-6 in the last 2:15 of the game to secure the win.

WVU played more than half the game without Chris Moss, who was taken to the hospital for evaluation after sustaining a blow to the abdomen, and also without suspended shooting guard Lionel Armstead.

Chaz Briggs had 18 points and Josh Yeager 16 for WVU.
