Player of the Game - Texas Tech

Martinsburg's Kevin Pittsnogle came up huge at both ends of the game to help propel West Virginia into the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament.

Pittsnogle hit a three-pointer early in the game to fuel an early 22-14 Mountaineer lead, then calmly drianed two free throws with 17.6 seconds left to give WVU a 64-60 lead. The Mountaineers then shut down Tech's last possession to record the 65-60 win.

Pittsnogle was again a threat both inside and out, scoring on a variety of jumpers, short hooks and stickbacks. He finished with 22 points on 7-13 shooting, including 2-3 from three-point range.

Pittsnogle also shook off two consecutive misses from the free throw line to make the two final shots from the line.

"I didn't even think about the first two," he said after the game. "Coach Beilein told me to think about my wife, and I did that."

Pittsnogle was also a force on the boards, collecting eight total, including five on the offensive end. He also had one block in his 23 minutes of action.
