More Names Surface in Basketball Coaching Search

Along with Cincinnati head coach Bob Huggins, North Carolina assistant Doug Wojcik, Tennessee Tech head coach Jeff Lebo, Florida assistant John Pelphrey, former Iowa State head coach Tim Floyd and Georgetown assistant Ronny Thompson have all been either interviewed or involved in serious speculation as candidates for the open men's basketball head coaching position at West Virginia.

Another candidate to add to that list may be current UConn assistant Dave Leitao.

Leitao is the associate head coach of the Huskies, and has head coaching experience. He was the head basketball coach at Northeastern University from 1994-96, where his record was 22-35. His two year stint as a head coach was sandwiched between two long terms as a UConn assistant (1986-1994, and 1996-present).

Leitao is a proven recruiter who heads up UConn's basketball recruiting efforts. He played for current UConn head coach Jim Calhoun at Northeastern, and is in his twentieth season with Calhoun as either a player or a coach.
