Ten Gymnasts named to EAGL All Academic Team

West Virginia University's gymnastics team excelled in the classroom as well as on the mats this year, as ten gymnasts recorded GPAs of 3.00 or better to earn EAGL All Academic honors.

The Mountaineers were led by four time all academic selection Christen Simpson of Charleston, West Virginia.

Joining Simpson were three time selections Amanda Halovanic of Grove City, Pennsylvania, and Jessica Rohm of Phillipsbug, New Jersey. Halovanic compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA to cap her third straight selection to the team.

Earning their second selections were Michelle Cina of Columbia, Maryland, Jamie Hill of Brampton, Ontario, Kristen Macrie of Hammonton, New Jersey and Allison Pratus of Hinckley, Ohio.

Rounding out the WVU selections were first time honorees Emily Duryea of Cheswick, Pennsylvania, Ashley Scalercio of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, and Kari Williams of Newark, Delaware.

To earn selection to the squad, gymnasts must have compiled a grade point average of 3.00 or higher in the previouis two semesters.
