TeShawne Jackson Nabs EAGL Award

WVU's TeShawne Jackson made it back to back gymnast of the week awards for West Virginia with her selection as the EAGL award winner for the week of March 19.

Jackson led the Mountaineers to a win over 19th ranked Penn State and a season high 196.275 team score.

She took second place in the all-around with a 39.425 score, her seventh 39+ all around score of her career. She also tied for second on vault (9.875) and floor exercise (9.90). She was third on bars (9.875) and fourth on beam (9.775) as WVU defeated the Lions for only the second time ever on the road. The floor exercise was Jackson's 29th career score of 9.9 or better.

Jackson, who was one of four Mountaineers to score over 39.00 in the all-round, earned the EAGL gymnast of the week award three times last season.

The big win over Penn State valuted WVU to second place in the EAGL with a regional qualifying score of 194.825. NC State leads the conference with an RQS of 194.985. The EAGL Championships are Saturday, March 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Towson, Maryland.
