Gansey, Herber Win Again

Joe Herber and Mike Gansey helped their respective national squads to wins Tuesday in the World University Games.

Herber helped Germany run its overall record to 3-1 in a 69-53 win over Czechoslovakia at the Ege University Sports Hall. From his starting slot, Herber scored seven points on 3-7 shooting from the field. He added a free throw, three rebounds, three assists and two steals to his totals.

Gansey, again coming off the bench, scored ten points to help the U.S. rout China, 117-61, also at the Ege Sports Hall. Gansey made all four of his two-point attempts and both of his free throws, but missed his four three-point tries. He also tallied three rebounds, an assist and a steal against two turnovers.

Wednesday, the teams will switch opponents, as the U.S. faces the Czechs and Germany takes on China.
