Moss Competes at Portsmouth

Mountaineer senior forward Chris Moss put up solid numbers at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament over the weekend.

The tournament, which is one of the primary camps used by the NBA to evaluate graduating college players, can also serve as a springboard for other leagues and opportunities. Former WVU frontliners such as Calvin Bowman and Marcus Goree both parlayed strong PIT performances into European basketball contracts.

The PIT is geared toward second round and possible free agent acquisitions, while the Chicago draft camp is tilted more toward possible first rounders.

Moss played three games over the weekend and turned in his usual solid performance. He averaged 11.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while playing only 21 minutes per contest, and also recorded four steals and a blocked shot.

Moss shot 58% from the field during the tournament, which his Norfolk Naval Shipyard team finished with a third place finish.
