Senior centerfielder Mike Frownfelter hit .600 last week to help WVU win three of four games. The performance earned him a share of the Big East Conference Player of the Week Award.
Frownfelter's offensive performance led West Virginia to a 3-1 record last week, including their first doubleheader sweep of the season. He went 6-for-10 at the plate with five runs and seven RBI in a weekend series against the Connecticut Huskies.
The centerfielder drove in two runs and scored a key insurance run in a 5-3 victory in game one. He then went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen
base in the nightcap, plus two RBI and two runs scored.
Frownfelter also belted a solo home run and drove in two runs in WVU's 11-8 comeback
win against Duquesne on April 1.
