West Virginia University
student-athletes will assist the American Red Cross in accepting
donations for the Hurricane Katrina relief fund at this Saturday's WVU
vs. Wofford football game.
Donation points will be positioned at the North, East and West
gates of Milan Puskar Stadium. WVU student-athletes will be stationed
along with a Red Cross representative at each of the three gates to
accept donations from fans. Cash and checks will be accepted; checks
should be made payable to the American Red Cross with Katrina written on
the memo line. All proceeds raised will go directly to the Red Cross to
assist in the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
"Our student-athletes wanted to get involved and asked how they
could help," WVU associate athletic director Terri Howes said. "This is
one way for them to greet and thank our fans along with helping the Red
Cross in relief efforts."
Kickoff for the WVU vs. Wofford football game is set for 6:00
p.m. Gates at the stadium will open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are still available at 1-800-WVU-GAME.
