Weekend Visits

An early official visit from a Florida standout highlights this week's visits at the WVU-ECU game.

Recardo Wright, a speedy and athletic linebacker from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla., is making something of an unusual official visit to WVU. Typically, players from southern states tend to take their official visits after the season is over, but Wright, who used his 4.5 speed to rack up 134 tackles as a junior, is making the trip early to check out West Virginia.

A number of underclassmen will also be on hand for the game, including Morgantown High School quarterback Charlie Russell. Russell is the top QB target for the Mountaineers in the junior class, and although he's no stranger to Mountaineer Field, WVU will take every chance it can to woo Russell, who will be the top recruit in the state as a senior.

Also among the underclassmen scheduled to be on hand is Josh Jenkins of Parkersburg High School. Jenkins, although just a sophomore, is already attracting a good bit of attention due to his six-foot, five-inch, 285 pound frame. Jenkins, an offensive and defensive line prospect, will be one of the Mountain State's top targets in the Class of 2008.
