Our player of the game pick from West Virginia's overtime loss to the LSU Tigers.
Senior forward Mike Gansey had yet another great performance, pouring in 25 points in WVU's 71-68 loss.
The Olmstead Falls, Oh. product made a career-best seven three pointers and put the Mountaineers on his back for the second time in five days. He also finished with seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and a pair of steals to lead West Virginia.
Senior sixth man Patrick Beilein had his best performance of the season. Patrick finished the game with 15 points, including three treys in 30 minutes of action.
Although he doesn't have a direct connection to WVU, Memphis Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley deserves recognition today. Heisley's generous donation will allow the construction of a Jerry West statue at the Coliseum's Blue Gate.
And finally, it wouldn't be right if we didn't take our hat off to all those involved in putting together this special weekend for Mountaineer sports. The retirement ceremonies of West and football legend Sam Huff were nothing but first class.
