Johnson, whose first choice remains Ohio State, is playing it close to the vest when speaking of offers and favorites. He did allow, however, that his interest in other schools is not just a fall back position at this point.
"I want to make sure everything is covered," said Johnson, a standout athlete who could play several different positions, including wide receiver and defensive back, in college. "I should know more after I visit West Virginia next weekend."
Several issues, including achieving a qualifying test score and GPA, remain to be cleared up, but both Johnson and his mother told Scout.com that his schoolwork has improved dramatically, and that he believes he will qualify.
Johnson has also said that he would entertain the possibility of going to a prep school if it would help him get an offer from the Buckeyes.
