WVU will be recruiting a number of linemen for the football class of 2003. One player in the Mountaineers' backyard who has drawn notice is Pennsylvania center Harry Kaufman.
Kaufman (6-3, 265) was at West Virginia's football camp over the weekend, and showed good technical skills at the center position. He will likely be a center in college as well, although he also played guard at Uniontown High School in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
As a junior at Uniontown, Kaufman was a first team all-Keystone Conference selection by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Kaufman teamed with West Virginia signee Kevin McLee last year to give the Red Raiders a powerful ground attack, and led Uniontown to a 9-1 regular season record and the conference championship.
Kaufman, who attended Penn State's junior day and a Nike Camp on April 21, also plays basketball for the Red Raiders.
