Rightfielder Paul Posluszny earned WVU's most recent athlete of the week award for his performance on the diamond.
In four games last week, the Aliquippa, Pa., native recorded a .471 batting average to fo along with nine RBI, two stolen bases and a home run. His big blast was a grand slam on Sunday against Pitt, which staked the Mountaineers to a 4-0 lead and poised them for a series sweep of the Panthers. He completed his stellar day with another RBI and a run scored in WVU's 14-3 win.
The senior also went 3-5 against the Panthers on Friday with two RBI and two runs scored. Posluszny is ten home runs away from Tim McCabe's WVU career record of 35.
WVU heads back into Big East play on Friday when it travels to Seton Hall for a three game weekend series.
