Change of Scenery

A change of scenery, or perhaps offensive systems, proved to be an effective tonic for West Virginia alumnus Kevin Pittsnogle as he began play for the Dallas Mavericks in the Rocky Mountain Revue on Saturday.

Pittsnogle saw 25 minutes of action in the Mavs 94-93 overtime win over Atlanta, and had his best shooting performance of the NBA summer league season to date. The 6-11 West Virginian logged 23 minutes against the Hawks, and scored 11 points on 4-7 shooting from the field. His final totals represented a bounceback, as he missed his first three shots before hitting his final four.

He also atoned for missing a free throw that could have iced the game in regulation by drilling his second three-pointer of the game early in the overtime period to give the Mavericks the upper hand in the three-minute extra session.

Overall, he made two of his four three-point attempts, and added a free throw and two rebounds to his total.

Pittsnogle continues to struggle at times on defense, however. He had five fouls in the rugged game (80 total were whistled in the contest).

Pittsnogle will be back on the court again Monday afternoon when Dallas takes on the Philadelphia 76ers.
