No Scoring, Solid Play

With two big men on the bench for the Dallas Mavericks in their game against Philadelphia on Monday in the Rocky Mountain Revue, it seemed as if things were set up for West Virginia alumnus Kevin Pittsnogle to put forth a solid statement.

Unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way, at least in the scoring column, for the 6-11 center, who did not tally any points in 16 minutes of playing time as the Mavs dropped an ugly 90-59 decision to the 76ers.

On the bright side, however, Pittsnogle displayed some other aspects of his game. He snared four rebounds, dealt out two assists, and had just two fouls during his time on the floor. He also recorded a steal and blocked a shot. The minimal fouls represented a big step forward for the WVU alumnus, who has struggled defensively in several games during NBA summer league play.

Pittsnogle's next chance to impress the Mavs comes on Tuesday evening when Dallas faces host squad Utah. Dallas coach Avery Johnson took in Monday's game.
