Central Virginia Chapter Plans Beilein Bash

The Central Virginia Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association is proud to sponsor a Richmond send-off for new Mountaineer men's basketball head coach John Beilein and his family on Monday evening, 12 August 2002. This will be a terrific opportunity for WVU fans to meet and talk with Coach Beilein.

While Mountaineer football is dominating most of the WVU athletic department news at the moment, Mountaineer basketball is quietly making strides of its own under new men's head coach John Beilein. The new Mountaineer mentor is preparing to permanently relocate his family to Morgantown later this month (where he's been hard at work for several months already).

To help send Coach Beilein off in style, the Central Virginia Chapter (CVC) of the WVU Alumni Association is planning to send Beilein and his family off to Morgantown in style and WVU basketball fans everywhere are invited to participate.

The event is being held at the Holiday Inn Select-Koger Center in Richmond. (For directions to the Holiday Inn Select-Koger Center call 804-379-3800.)

The cost of the event, which includes a dinner of chicken breast, vegetable medley, rolls/butter and apple pie, is $24 for CVC members and $29 for non-members. Those traveling from outside the CVC's membership area can pay the $24 rate. Members of another WVU Alumni Association local chapter and/or the national WVU Alumni Association can also take advantage of the $24 rate.

The evening's agenda is as follows:

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Cash bar/social hour
7:00 PM - 7:45 PM Dinner
7:45 PM - 8:00 PM Introductions
8:00 PM - 8:30 PM Remarks by Coach Beilein
8:30 PM - 9:00 PM Q & A Session

WVU fans throughout Virginia, southern West Virginia and North Carolina will especially want to take advantage of this nearby opportunity to meet the new Mountaineer head coach and discuss the WVU men's basketball program with him.

To make reservations or to ask any questions about this event, please call CVC President Mark W. Fought at 804-344-8340 or 804-241-0600.
