With Trinity leading 10-0 at 8:26 p.m., the game was suspended when a torrential downpour and lightning rolled into the area. Both teams and more than 30,000 fans were cleared from Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Nitro head coach Scott Tinsely added ?That was our plan, at halftime, our kids thought we could we could wear them out a little bit if we just picked up the pace. They were doing a great job of disguising defenses on us in the first half, so we thought it we went to a quicker count, we could catch them and not let them disguise defenses.?? Last Game : Beat Potomac 14-13. Hogan had one of the biggest plays of the night, blocking the extra point attempt to preserve a 14-13 lead. "I went right over their center and was able to block it," Hogan said. The senior did connect on a 30 yard touchdown pass to preserve the victory and totaled 90 yards passing on the night. He also added an impressive 196 yards rushing. "It was a little shaky," Hogan admitted. "Against a hard team, it's always going to be a little shaky." Potomac coach Tony Lilly said, "I thought we did a good job against [Hogan}, He's a great athlete; he's going to get his. But I felt like we did a great job keeping him from making the big play, which was our goal going into it." Next game versus Freedom on 9/29.
