White had a record-setting day for No. 5 West Virginia in its conference-opening win over Syracuse on Oct. 14. He set a Big East record for rushing yards in a game by a quarterback, totaling 247 yards on 15 carries (16.5 avg.), which broke his own mark set against Pitt last season. The Alabama native also ran for four touchdowns (69, 40, 32, 12) to tie the league mark for rushing touchdowns in a game by a quarterback. In addition, he completed 12-of-19 passes for 99 yards.
In Rutgers' 34-0 victory at Navy on Oct. 14, Meekins posted 12 tackles, two sacks and three forced fumbles. He anchored a defense which held the nation's top rushing team (350.5) to 113 yards on 50 carries. Meekins and the Scarlet Knights handed Navy its first shutout since 2002. On Sunday, he was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week.
Carmody accounted for 11 of Louisville's 23 points in a 23-17 victory over Cincinnati on Oct. 14. He was 3-of-3 on field goal attempts, hitting from 32, 42 and 35 yards. Carmody also hit both of his PATs. For the season, he has connected on 11-of-12 field goal attempts.
The Big East also announced its weekly honor roll on Monday. Among those honored were Connecticut running back Terry Caulley, Pittsburgh running back LaRod Stephens-Howling and linebacker H.B. Blades, Rutgers quarterback Mike Teel and West Virginia running back Steve Slaton.
