WVU Athlete Of The Week

West Virginia University has named forward Deana Everrett of the women's soccer team its athlete of the week after she helped the Mountaineers pick up two BIG EAST victories this weekend.

After WVU knocked off undefeated and No. 23 Villanova in double overtime, Everrett showed that the Mountaineers weren't going to have a letdown by taking care of Georgetown, 3-0.

The Oakville, Ontario, Canada, native had her hand in all three scores as she netted two goals and had one assist to give WVU its fifth consecutive win over a BIG EAST opponent.

Everrett leads the country in scoring with 16 goals and has six assists for 38 points this season.

WestVirginia's record now sits at 13-1-2 with a 7-1-1 conference mark, they have 22 points and sit atop the BIG EAST's American Division standings.

The Mountaineers have shut out six of their last seven BIG EAST opponents and owns a 15 match home unbeaten streak. WVU has outscored its opponents 49-7 this season.
