Defensive Back Latest Commitment

An Ohio cornerback has made WVU his college of choice. The commitment is West Virginia's fourth for the class of 2003.

Davonzo Tate, a speedy cornerback/running back from Austintown Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio, has committed to WVU.

Tate, who received interest from Syracuse, Maryland and Pitt, among others, also was a standout track performer for Fitch, competing in the 100 and 200 and 400 meter dashes.

Tate (5-10, 180) is expected to be a cornerback for the Mountaineers. Tate is the second commitment from the Youngstown area (Austintown is in recent weeks for West Virginia. Tight end Mike Villagrana from Boardman High School is also a WVU verbal.
