Holiday Weekend Visits

The Thanksgiving weekend will limit some visits to West Virginia's football game this weekend, but there will stee be some topnotch players on hand.

The final weekend of the regular season (Dec. 2 against Rutgers) will see a number of visitors on what figures to be an action-packed day. However, that doesn't mean the sidelines will be bare prior to the WVU - South Florida game this weekend.

Among the verbal commitments expected to visit are Louisville running back Victor Anderson. The St. Xavier star, who has taken some visits to other schools, is still strongly in WVU's corner, and is expected to sign with the Mountaineers in February.

Two other commits, Michigan defensive back Derek Knight and Maryland running back Terrence Kerns, are also expected. Kerns, who injured a knee earlier this year, is rehabbing the injury and may not undergo surgery, although that decision has yet to be finalized.

A pair of juniors, Josh Jenkins (a West Virginia commitment) and Maryland defensive lineman Jeff Braun are also on the visit list.

Other players to watch on the weekend list include offensive lineman Mark Jackson, who is currently in a postgraduate year at Harmony School, and Kendall Washington, a rangy linebacker prospect who had committed to Michigan State. Jackson, who can enroll in college in January, has very good mobility, while Washington is looking at other schools due to the unstable coaching situation at MSU.
