Florida Bound?

West Virginia offensive line coach Rick Trickett just returned to the Mountain State from Florida following WVU's Gator Bowl win. Is a boomerang trip soon to follow?

According to multiple sources, Florida State will announce the hiring of Trickett at a press conference on Thursday. Trickett, who holds the titles of offensive line coach and assistant head coach at WVU, will likely get similar titles at Florida State when a formal announcement is made.

Other sources close to the situation have confirmed that Trickett is headed to the Seminoles. Friction between Trickett and head coach Rich Rodriguez was cited as one of the main factors in the departure.

Trickett, labeled by many as the best collegiate line coach in the country, has been an integral part of the development of West Virginia into a major offensive power. His zone blocking scheme and development ability helped WVU become one of the top rushing offenses in the country, despite running from a spread formation.

The Mountaineers may also lose wide receivers coach Butch Jones, who is one of two finalists for the head coaching job at Central Michigan. Jones, who is very familiar with the area, is a natural fit for that position, and was termed to be "very close" to landing the job.
