A confident player, Mazzulla admits that adjusting to the pace of play while also learning an intricate offense have been demanding tasks during his freshman season. However, the aggressive Rhode Islander hasn't backed down from the challenge, and is learning how to pick his spots and read defenses during his inaugural campaign.
With head coach John Beilein experimenting with an eight man rotation recently, Mazzulla has become the first and only sub off the bench at both guard positions. Should that rotation hold true for the remainder of the season, he will likely see hims minutes increase during the final two months of the year.
