Jenkins Bats Way To Award

Senior baseball player Justin Jenkins has been named West Virginia University's athlete of the week after breaking the school record for career doubles this past weekend.

The Ridgeley, W.Va., native knocked his 59th career double in a Mountaineer uniform to become the all-time doubles leader against Louisville on March 30. Jenkins passed former West Virginia power Stan Posluszny (2003-06) who had 58 career doubles to his name.

The 6-2, 210-pound leftfielder is currently batting .436 with four home runs, 24 RBI and a team-high 12 doubles.

West Virginia is 15-8 overall and 3-3 in the Big East as it prepares for series with Canisius at home and South Florida on the road this week.
