Another Hurdle

West Virginia may hope to challenge for a BCS bowl berth in 2008, but it will have to do so without one of tis defensive stalwarts

Johnny Dingle, who could have returned next year for another season, has decided to enter the NFL Draft.

"I sat down with my parents, and we decided it was an opportunity that I just couldn't pass up," said Dingle.

Although he did not comment directly on the situation, the departure of head coach Rich Rodriguez may have had an effect on the decision as well.

West Virginia will also lose senior lineman Keilen Dykes, whose eligibility expires after this year.

Dingle had 46 tackles, including 18 for loss. He also had eight sacks. The 18 tackles for 75 yards in lost yardage led the team, while his eight sacks tied him with Marc Magro for team high honors.
