Flip or Not?

J.D. Woods said he wanted to compare other schools to West Virginia after taking several recruiting trips while verbally committed to the Mountaineers. With Signing Day just hours away, what did those visits tell him?

Woods visited Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh, among other schools, which brought his commitment to West Virginia into a bit of doubt. However, after making all of those trips, Woods has his sights firmly set on one school.

"I will be signing at West Virginia tomorrow," Woods said on Tuesday evening. "It came down to my love for West Virginia. I made those other visits to compare them to West Virginia, and none of them were close."

Woods, the sort of gamebreaking wide receiver that WVU will need if it is to successfully execute its plans to go deep in the passing game more often next year, was enthusiastic as he talked of his feelings for his chosen school.

"I went to Vanderbilt, but it didn't compare to West Virginia. That's where my heart is, and I just wanted to reassure myself that I was making the right choice."

Woods will sign with West Virginia at an 8:30 a.m. press conference at his high school.

"The whole school will be there," he said. "I'm looking forward to it."
