WVU Short Three for Temple

WVU's bid for bowl eligibility will be hampered with the unavailability of three players for the Battle with Temple.

The most critical of the absences is senior defensive end Kevin Freeman, who did not make the trip to Philadelphia for personal reasons.

Freeman is the leading tackler on the defensive line, and has played very well in his senior season. There was no immediate word avaialbe on how long Freeman might be away from the team.

Wide receivers Travis Garvin and J. T. Perry were suspended indefinitely by head coach Rich Rodriguez for an unspecified violation of team rules. Perry has caught two passes for West Virginia this year, while Garvin has been a threat on reverses.

The losses thin a Mountaineer roster already hampered by injuries at the same positions.
