As Expected, Four Sign With Men's Basketball

All four players who made early commitments to WVU's men's basketball program have delivered their letters of intent to the University.

The four players include guard Tyler Relph and forwards Brad Byerson, Franklin Young and Jerrah Young.

"I couldn't be happier with this recruiting class," said head coach John Beilein in a prepared statement. "When you throw in D'or Fischer (sitting out the 2002-03 season after transferring from Northwestern State) with this class, it makes for five great additions to our team next season. We are thrilled to get such talented players who have really solid attitudes as well."

WVU has one more scholarship available for this class, but Beilein has said he will not use it unless it he can get another playe who can help the Mountaineers.

All four of the signees will be eligible to play in 2003-2004.

The early signees signal yet another change for the men's basketball program, which has not been able to get a high number of early commitments or signees in recent seasons.
