Pepper Shines in Camp Action

Dalton Pepper, one of West Virginia's top recruiting targets in the class of 2009, had an outstanding showing at the Hoop Group Elite Camp earlier this week.

Playing against some of the top talent in the country, Pepper earned his division's most outstanding player award, and was also named one of the top nine players in the all-star competition, which included the top 100 players at the camp.

In all star play, Pepper was instrumental in leading his team to a pair of victories. In the first, after missing a pair of free throws late in the game with his team trailing by one, the strong swingman bounced back with a pair of makes to seal the win. In the second game, his scoring flurry helped build a 15-point halftime lead that his squad held onto for a win.

Pepper is scheduled to appear in the Triple S Harley Davidson Jamfest next week on the campuses of West Virginia and Fairmont State.

An athletic wing who could play either forward or guard, Pepper has been courted by some of the top teams in the country. Although many schools still appear to be in the fight for his services, his final decision will almost certainly come down to West Virginia and Villanova.
