WVU Back Into Polls

West Virginia moved back into the top 25 for the first time in four years after their 21-18 victory over Virginia Tech.

WVU is 21st in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll with 293 points. That total puts them 61 points behind number 20 North Carolina State.

In the Associated Press writers poll, the Mountaineers are 24th with 251 points, trailing number 23 Florida State by only four votes.

Despite identical records and a head to head victory over Virginia Tech, the Hokies remained ahead of the Mountaineers in both polls. Tech is number 19 in the coaches poll, and number 22 in the writers poll. On the flip side, Maryland, which has one more win that WVU, trails the Mountaineers in both polls. Critics of the computer rankings used in the BCS poll might note those votes before railing about the computer rankings.
