Wiley Shares Defensive Honor

Grant Wiley earned a share of the Big East's Defensive Player of the Week Award for his gritty performance in WVU's 21-18 win over Virginia Tech.

Wiley was the key on defense in WVU's win over the Hokies. The junior linebacker had 15 tackles (ten of them solo) which tied his season high.

The most important of those came on a fourth quarter goal-line stand, when Wiley recorded second and fourth down stops as Tech failed to penetrate the end zone on three tires from the one yard line.

Wiley also had two tackles for losses, a fumble recover, and an interception of an attempted Tech two point conversion. Wiley leads WVU with 122 tackles on the season.
