Player of the Game - Florida

Sophomore guard Drew Schifino made the key defensive play of the game to spark WVU past Florida and earn our player of the game honors.

Schifino swatted Brett Nelson's three point shot into the cheap seats with six seconds to go to preserve WVU's 68-66 upset of the seventh ranked Gators.

"We wanted to switch on all the screens, but I knew he wanted to shoot the ball on the last shot and be the hero," Schifino said of his game ending heroics. "I knew I had to come up with a big play, and I made the big block on him. I was with him the whole way."

Schifino scored 18 points on 7-17 shooting from the field while seeing at least three good shots spin in and out of the hoop. He was 4-6 from the free throw line, and added two assists against only one turnover in 33 minutes of action.

"I didn't think about those missed shots," Schifino said afterward. "I was a little mad about one that I thought was goaltending, but I didn't let that bother me."
