Player of the Game - UNCG

Sophomore forward Tyrone Sally rang up twenty points against UNC-Greensboro to win our player of the game honors.

Sally added seven rebounds, four assists and a steal, as he was West Virginia's only consistent offensive threat throughout the game. Sally was 8-9 form the field, including 4-4 from three point distance, to pace the WVU attack.

The Mountaineers suffered from an up and down performance, especially on offense, but Sally provided the steadying influence West Virginia needed to hold off the Spartans.

The decision of Sally over senior forward Chaz Briggs was a tough one. Briggs ignited WVU's second half rally with consecutive inside baskets, and also kept several other balls alive with rebounds and tips. Briggs finished with nine points and seven rebounds in his spark plug effort.
