WVU Places Three on First Team All Big East

Running back Avon Cobourne, offensive tackle Lance Nimmo and linebacker Grant Wiley have earned first team All-Big East honors.

West Virginia also had four players named to the second team squad, including offensive guard Ken Sandor, defensive lineman David Upchurch, safety Angel Estrada, and linebacker James Davis.

In an expected case of myopia by the other Big East coaches, Miami head coach Larry Coker was selected as the league's coach of the year over West Virginia's Rich Rodriguez. Coker's Miami squad was picked first in the league, and that's where the Hurricanes wound up. Rodriguez' team was picked sixth, and finished second. You make the call.
