Major Recruiting Effort Targeted For January

With bowl preparations occupying the majority of December, the Mountaineer football staff will focus on recruiting visits in January.

That's not to say that receruiting efforts will cease while the football team prepares for its matchup with Virginia in the Continental Tire Bowl - far from it. However, most of the remaining allowable official visits will be used on the second and third weekends of January, once WVU has returned from Charlotte.

Players such as offensive lineman Tom Anevski, linebacker Johnny Dingle and defensive back Michael Meggett are all scheduled to visit during the mid-January timeframe, which promises to be a busy one for the Mountaineer staff.

WVU is expected to take anywhere from five to eight more players in this class. The number is flexible, as academic qualifications and the ability of a player or two to defer enrollment for a semester would allow West Virginia to stay under the 25 scholarship limit.
