Intensity Lacking

Alex Ruoff was one of several Mountaineers who blames a lack of first half energy and execution for WVU's loss to Syracuse in the Big East semifinals

Although West Virginia senior Alex Ruoff said "my answers probably won't be any good" after WVU's loss to Syracuse, they were actually right on the mark. He noted that West Virginia came out with a decided lack of intensity, and that carried over to the execution phase as WVU fell behind the Orange by seven points in the first half.

Ruoff noted that the Mountaineers simply didn't attack well when it got the ball into the middle of the Orange's signature 2-3 zone defense, and detailed some of the failings that knocked his team out of the Big East tournament.
