Player of the Game - Georgetown

WVU's sophomore scoring machine played perhaps the best all-around game of his career in the Mountaineers' upset bid against Georgetown.

Schifino was a presence all over the floor as West Virginia rallied time and again before falling short in overtime against the bigger, more experienced Hoyas.

On the offensive end, Schifino scored 25 points, including 19 after halftime, to fuel WVU's rally from an eleven point deficit. That type of performance is almost becoming expected of the acrobatic sophomore. Schifino was 9-19 from the field, and 7-9 from the free throw line.

Schifino's unepxected contribution came on the backboards, where he snared nine rebounds, including a pair of key offensive caroms that he converted into baskets. Schifion had five offensive boards overall as he knifed his way past bigger players time and again.

Schifino was also a force defensively, tipping several passes and recording two of his four steals to gave WVU a five point advantage in the final minute of regulation. Schifino rounded out his stellar line with three assists
