It's a "tone setter" for practice, making the first contact of days in pads and amping up the intensity level for scrimmage work to come.

It's victory drills, and although starters get limited reps, its still an important five minutes after stretching and individual work get things going at a typical WVU practice session. It can also get a player notice, as a string of good performances could lead to a more extended look during 11 on 11 scrimmage work.
