Schifino assisted on a three pointer by Kevin Pittsnogle to give WVU a two point lead, hit a layup, grabbed a defensive rebound, hit three of four free throws and stole the ball on Marshall's final possession to secure the win for West Virginia.
The Pittsburgh native scored 21 points on 7-19 shooting, made seven of his ten free throws, and snared ten rebounds from his small forward spot. He added three assists and two steals in 37 minutes of action.
Schifino and Kevin Pittsnogle were again the offensive story for the Mountaineers, as they recorded their sixth win in the last seven games against the Herd.
Pittsnogle added 14 points, and hit three of his five three point attempts. WVU was also respectable from the free throw line, hitting 11-17 for the game.
