Hoops Underway

West Virginia's preaseason basketball workouts, which are limited to groups of four players for an hour at a time, aren't aimed at teaching the entire Mountaineer system to the newcomers.

The Mountaineers, under head coach Bob Huggins, are allowed to work with groups of four players for two hours each week on the court. And while there is some effort given to getting newcomers familiar with the system before the start of full practices on Oct. 16, the real focus is one of effort and intensity.

Assistant coach Erik Martin, who was the epitome of such qualities when he played for head coach Bob Huggins at Cincinnati, discussed this and other aspects of the upcoming season in this exclusive interview with BlueGoldNews.com.
