Filling the Gap

Without two defensive stalwarts in a tough environment at Auburn, former walk-on Najee Goode helped fill the void on the Mountaineer defense.

Goode, playing in place of the injured Reed Williams, did a workmanlike job at middle linebacker in WVU's tough loss to the Tigers. Playing against a well-schemed offense, he had two tackles, broke up a pass and had a quarterback hit in the 41-30 loss.

In addition to filling in for Williams, Goode also played some defensive end in passing situations to help provide more pressure on the quarterback.

In this interview, Goode discusses the crowd noise and environment, describes his feelings upon learning he would start, and discusses Auburn's offense and the difficulties it poses in defending it.
