Sophomore defensive lineman Julian Miller had six tackles, including three sacks for losses of 19 yards, and one pass breakup in West Virginia's 17-9 win over the Cardinals to earn Big East Defensive Player of the Week honors. He delivered sacks on consecutive plays in the fourth quarter when the Cardinals threatened for the tying touchdown. Miller led a Mountaineer defense that had five sacks against the Cardinals and held its opponent without a touchdown for the first time this season.
Wide receiver/running back Jock Sanders earned a spot on the league's honor roll list with 91 all-purpose yards. He caught three passes for 20 yards, including an eight-yard score, and rushed 12 times for 66 yards after moving to running back to replace injured starter Noel Devine.
