Avery Williams made an official visit to West Virginia this past weekend, just a couple of weeks after he committed to Utah. He came on the visit with his mother and nephew, and described the visit, which was his fourth to campus this year.
"I enjoyed everything about it," said Williams, who carefully described his visit. "I really enjoyed the coaches, and i got to see more of the campus. We went to the basketball game, and that was good too. I've been down to junior day and the spring game and for a game, and I liked everything I saw. West Virginia is a good school."
Williams said the visit caused him to reconsider his decision concerning Utah, but with one caveat.
"If I could have gotten into West Virginia early (in January) I would have seriously considered it. But right now I am still committed to Utah."
Enrollment for the spring semester at West Virginia closed on Friday, but there have been cases (not necessarily athletic ones) where later enrollments were allowed. Should something like that play out, it's possible that Williams could still switch to West Virginia, but for now he remains a Utah commitment.
Other than the slim West Virginia possibility, recruiting is over for Williams.
"This was the last visit I am taking," he said.
