Competition Equals Better Play At Corner

Sophomore cornerback Pat Miller has a simple, yet eloquent, description of the competition for playing time at his position this spring.

"We all want it," Pat Miller said of the battle for snaps, which includes Brandon Hogan, Keith Tandy, Broderick Jenkins in addition to himself. "It should let us rotate in and out and disguise more things against the quarterback.

Miller received some brief playing time last year, recording solo tackles against Colorado and Pitt, but those brief cameos are a far cry from the time he hopes to get this year. While a starting assignment is probably not in the cards, he hopes that a quality backup role, as well as a role in passing situations that require more defensive backs, will be in the cards.

In this interview, Miller discusses the benefits of the added competition and the value that brings to play at corner.
