Good First Effort

WVU nose tackle Chris Neild was pleased with the defensive effort West Virginia showed on Sturday, and highlighted a number of the keys to that performance.

Chris Neild got a good bit of rest during the second half of WVU's 31-0 win over Coastal Carolina, but that was a good thing in terms of team morale. Twenty-six defenders made it into the stat book with at least one tackle, and that makes for a happy locker room during the upcoming week of practice.

Neild, who also comes off the field when West Virginia goes to its four-man front in passing situations, isn't just taking it easy during those times. He's watching his linemantes, Julian Miller and Scooter Berry, as they work against the offensive linemen he faces earlier in the series.
