Fennell a Hilltopper again?

The three-star lineman flipped his commitment from WKU to South Florida in December.

Three-star South Fort Myers (Fla.) HS lineman Joe Fennell may be changing his commitment--again.

WKUInsider can confirm that Fennell will visit Western Kentucky this weekend, but cannot confirm the three-star is recommitted to the Hilltoppers at this time.

The Naples Daily News reported on Jan. 30 that Fennell flipped his commitment from WKU back to South Florida.

"Joe is going back to Western Kentucky because the academic programs suit him better," South Fort Myers head coach Grant Redhead said, according to the report.

Additionally, Redhead told NDN that Fennell will sign with WKU on Feb. 6, also known as National Signing Day.

Fennell committed to the Hilltoppers and then head coach Willie Taggart in August 2012.

The South Fort Myers standout picked WKU (at the time) over offers from more than a dozen BCS programs.

When Taggart left in December to take the job at USF, Fennell flipped his commitment to the Bulls, ready to join the former Hilltopper coach in Tampa.

Now, it appears the 6-foot-5, 290 pound lineman wants to be a Topper' after all.

Stay tuned with WKUInsider for more information on Fennell's recruitment and WKU after his Feb. 1 weekend visit.
